TUTORING FEES

We encourage you to call us on 1300 786 234 and communicate your tuition requirements with us so we can accurately match your requirements with the most adequately qualified tutor available and for the recommended duration.

Please note: we don't charge Booking or Placement fees and don't charge credit card surcharge fees.

Lesson Purchase

All tutoring lessons are paid for in advance on a monthly basis. Please note there is no booking or placement fees charged when an enquiry and/or booking is made.

Payment by credit card (Visa & Mastercard) attracts no merchant or service fees. For your budgeting convenience monthly payments are also accepted via a Credit Card Debit Authority.

Booking Process

When you call our 1300 786 234 number for the first time we will need to ask you for the following particulars in order to establish you as a new customer on our database:

If you have contacted us via email or by completing the above online enquiry form, we will contact you to confirm your booking request and gather any other relevant details.

Once you decide to proceed, we will allocate a suitably qualified tutor together with confirmation of the first lesson date and time and will email you confirmation including details of any ongoing weekly tuition. The email will also include the allocated tutor's details and our terms and conditions of the delivery of our tutoring services.

As a condition of our tutor's agreement with Smarts Home Tutoring, tutors are required to provide initial assessment and ongoing feedback of their lesson outcomes with your child via an online database that serves as a record of their attendance and of the time utilised for each tuition period. This information will also contribute to regular feedback between tutor and parents and towards a formal written report on the progress of your child's tuition that will be provided at the completion of each term, for those students requiring tutoring on a term by term basis.

Tutors for Multiple Subjects

Students in years 7-12 who require tuition in more than one subject may require more than one tutor. As a general rule, tutors experienced with Maths and Science subjects are not necessarily qualified to also tutor English and Humanities related subjects.

If you require tuition for more than one subject please discuss your requirements with us first and we will be able to tailor your tutoring needs according to tutor subject selection and year level aptitudes.

Lesson Duration

Primary (to Year 6) - one on one tuition is typically conducted over a one hour session once a week over a term or ongoing depending on the assessed requirement of each individual child.

Secondary (Years 7 to 10) - one on one tuition is recommended to be of a minimum duration of 60 to 90 minutes per lesson, however this is dependant on each individual student's requirements and generally tailored for each individual student.

Senior Secondary and Tertiary - one on one tuition is recommended to be of a minimum duration of 90 minutes per lesson and up to 2 hour sessions are common due to the more complex nature of the curriculum and of each student's individual needs, especially leading up to exam time.
